The Experience

In our refuge, we want to transform 1,000 m² into a biodiversity haven. We are looking for a passionate advocate of regenerative agriculture to create the garden from scratch. Your mission will be to raise awareness and spread the project and its economic sustainability. Without subsidies, the sale of seasonal organic vegetables and produce will be a direct and crucial source of income to feed, care for, and rescue more animals at the refuge. 👨‍

My time staying at Luisa’s home and working at the shelter was beautiful.I felt comfortable within the first days. The Apartment was very nice, I had a spacious room, always enough space to cook , eat , read or do whatever I liked. I also always felt very respected in my privacy. The communication between me and Luisa worked great , even when we struggled with the language sometimes, Lluisa always took her time to explain. The work at the shelter was lovely. It is basically a 4 hour cuddling session with the animals and some maintenance work.I loved everything about my stay and recommend 100%❤️

It has been a pleasure collaborating with Lisa, a young woman who is clean, organized, and has an admirable sensitivity to living with others and animals.🐾

She learned incredibly fast and carried out a thorough cleaning and impeccable organization of the warehouse.

She stands out for her great civility (she left the kitchen better than she found it).

The cats, the dog and the whole shelter love you, Lisa!❤️

My experience at the the shelter of the shelter exceeded my expectations. I felt very well received from the first moment, which filled me with energy to carry out my daily tasks. Lluisa and Saray are a sun of people, they give everything of themselves so that the the shelter have the most dignified living conditions that can be afforded, investing countless hours of their routines to move forward this beautiful project of resilience, without doubt it is admirable what they do. I would recommend to anyone who likes the the shelter that go to the the shelter, the the shelter are very cuddly and you get attached quickly.

Nadia has carried out impeccable volunteer work during her four weeks here. She is a dynamic, intelligent, dedicated and discreet young woman. From the very first moment, she took the initiative in the shelter's routines and tasks with complete accuracy, including administering medications to various animals, as well as important tasks such as cleaning duties and organizing in the warehouse and the shelter together with her fellow volunteer, with whom she formed a good team. A perfect 10, Nadia‼️ and a big hug to your dad 💝

My experience as a volunteer at this shelter has been really fantastic! From the first moment I felt very comfortable. A family-like and intimate atmosphere is created, and it is very easy to connect with the animals and grow fond of them. The shelter is very well cared for, organized and equipped. One can really notice the dedication and affection of the volunteers, who take care of every detail always thinking about the animals' well-being. The schedules and the tasks are simple and clear. It has been an experience that has enriched me; I highly recommend it!! 🌟

María Sol has been an exceptional volunteer at our shelter.

From day one, she demonstrated that she is a person of total trust, very responsible in terms of the socialization of the animals and in meeting her schedules, showing great discipline in all assigned tasks.

Her help has brought us a great deal of peace.

She has even helped us in interviews with other applicants to speed up the language-related aspects of the process.

She has performed impeccable volunteer work.

The shelter is a very nice place; they have several cats and a dog. The animals live very comfortably; they have a roof, a yard, food every day. The work the girls do is impressive; the truth is that giving their time and energy to a project like this is admirable! The tasks are very easy: accompany the animals, pamper them, feed them, keep order. The shelter is very close to town and the train, so you can go to visit other places around! If you like walking, there are several nature-filled paths to explore! Thanks to all!!💜

Honestly, it has been an enriching experience, with both the shelter animals and the residents of the town and the work team I’ve counted on
which have formed to be part of my heart and my family. I’m taking away many good memories from this experience and I’m already looking forward to returning. 🥹

It has been a real pleasure to meet and have Diana among us, a true passion for animals, for their welfare, and for her kindness to the whole team at Refugio PETjades. So much so that after fulfilling her commitment undertaken with worldpackers, she has returned on two additional occasions for a few days to help us at Refugio PETjades and enjoy her company.
