The Experience

Help us host something unforgettable in Andong. This Chuseok, 100 travelers take part in a real Korean ancestral ritual β€” each honoring someone they miss, cooking their country's dish, wearing hanbok, bowing together as one. Help behind the scenes a few hours, then take your own seat at the table. Afterward, the Andong Mask Dance Festival awaits β€” music, food, a city celebrating into the night. Short, meaningful, genuinely fun.

This has been one of the best volunteering experiences I had. And one of those I've learned the most from about culture and society. I'm truly grateful for the people I've come to known and for Heeo as a host. He is the kindest soul and will always help you if there's any problem. He taught me so much about Korean culture and food, which I'm so thankful for. The work is super simple and you'll have plenty of time to explore. I will definitely come back <3

Heeo is incredibly welcoming and a fun and interesting host to be around. I learnt a lot about Korean culture which was one of the main goals for me. The work is basic hostel work and the hostel is not too big. For the chuseok event it was mostly about promoting it to foreigners at the mask dance festival and then some help on the day itself. There is also other volunteers staying, it quickly became a small the guest house family. We did many things together, it was a very fun time and I would love to come back some time. Reach out if you have any questions!

The experience was amazing. Heeo (guesthouse owner) was really nice. He would take us out to eat and also tours. The work was not hard and we could enjoy our free days. The city is really nice and peaceful, with some hostorical attractions. And there are many interesting cities nearby as well. I learned a lot about Korean history and had a lot of fun.
