The Experience

Hi worldpacker! 😊 Our lodge is located on a small island in the paradise of Bocas del Toro, right in between the jungle and the ocean. We have a huge water slide, a swimming pool and spacious social area where our guests have cocktails (& staff too! 🍹) while watching the most outstanding view. 2017 , 2025 & 2026 winner of best Hostel in Panama! We do not accept children at the Lodge (it is includes childish behavior)

This was my worst volunteering experience. There are no lockers and the doors to the rooms cannot be closed. The 3 hours of daily work become 6. The boat "free" usually costs 10 dollars at best. The kitchen is very rudimentary, the electricity is always cut and the internet is very unstable. Also, since the second day the volunteers are left alone, with no one to tell them what to do. There are many things left unsaid, but they do not fit in the text. Honestly, it is an experience I do not recommend, and especially not for 1 month.

We're sorry that you left with that impression; it's important to clarify that you were at the location for only 3 days. During this time, you showed little interest in integrating with the team and you had an unfriendly attitude with the staff. We explained to you in the interview; we look for volunteers with good energy, a willingness to help and to work as a team. We believe that commitment, attitude and mutual respect are fundamental for a volunteer experience to work. For these reasons, we would not recommend you. Thank you Nevid
