The Experience

The center has 80 disabled children and adults, aged between 2 and 22 years (four classes). Their disabilities include Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, children who are victims of Agent Orange, and various other mental disorders. The number of children varies from time to time. The center tailors its educational programs to suit each individual, and employs the use of psychotherapy, modern medicine and other traditional therapies.

Dung is an inspiring person, with many ideas and wishes and dreams. Through his questions, I was able to reflect on my own life. He explained the work to me and introduced me to my colleagues. I was warmly welcomed. Dung helped me to get to know the country and its people.

The volunteering was amazing ! i made loads of great memories while volunteering . Mr. dung is one of the great people you will ever meet, he is funny and very understanding ! the volunteering house is half an hour far from hanoi city , but it's okay ( riding the bus as a foreigner and everyone is looking at you is quite an adventure ). the food was good , traditional vietnamese food made by mr. dung's wife :)
