My experience with CVTD Vietnam was great ! Work with kids is really tiring and you have to keep your energy and enthusiasm all the time but when you see them smiling, having fun and the most important learning things from you it really worth it !
Sometimes it's difficult to communicate cause most of times the teachers who are with you trying to help with the kids they also don't know how to speak in English but you can find a way to understand each other haha
Even with some unexpected things they helped me and made me feel like home with their family and all the volunteers :)
I had a very pleasant stay at Dungs homestay and thoroughly enjoyed working in the care centre. However the whole thing is very unorganised and is not what is described at all. My main problem i encountered was that very very shortly before my arrival and long after I had confirmed my stay and bought my flights, I was informed that there was a large fee to pay to take part in this programme!! Which is not mentioned at all in the description and had not been mentioned in any previous conversation with the host. So if you are choosing to work in the care centre beware of this scam!!
I loved to stay in cvtd for 2 weeks and discover the Vietnam life style. I really loved dung and his family and all the staff, they are very kind:) it was a very good experience to teach for the first time, I miss it every day and will never forget this experience.
The place we stay was super comfy, far from Hanoi city center though, but I really felt like home.
My time with CVTD was absolutely incredible. This was my first trip as a solo traveller, Dung and his family's hospitality completely calmed my nerves. I felt at home the moment I arrived. The accommodation is cozy, and the hours are more than fair! I had plenty of time to travel and explore Vietnam on my days off from volunteering. The volunteering itself is a challenge, but it should be! I can honestly say being with CVTD was a life changing experience. I would love to go back.
