To live and work at Toshi's propety was a very pleasant experience. its located right next to the ocean. after work I get the peviliage to jump into the ocean or grab a surf board and go on surfing right away! everyone who I work with are just like family members. great atmosphere overall.I was able to meet differen people all around the globe the whole experience helped me grow my social awareness. I wish I could stayed longer and learn more skills. Toshi is an easy going guy, who is super chill and relaxed. overall I would love to be there for more time in the future. lovely place!

Toshi and Fu-chan are such kind-hearted people! This place is very special and I cannot describe how grateful I am to have had to opportunity to live here, so please be kind and respectful as they deserve it the most. They sometimes organize events where I could meet local people and I could use the surfboards they have. The work is very fair and there is plenty of time to chill, surf, relax at the beach, walk around, visit shrines, go to the city or hitchhike to sightseeing spots around Miyazaki. If I come back to Japan I will definitely visit <3

Without a doubt getting to Hooju was the best decision I made, the place is a paradise to rest, the atmosphere is very calm, the tasks were very simple but they demand a high degree of responsibility, Toshi is an incredible person, he is a fair person I had a couple of problems and he always supported me, I was able to surf with Toshi's surfboards, and not to mention the people who stay at the hostel who create a very good atmosphere of coexistence and party; in short it was an incredible experience.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience. Toshi and his wife Foo made it a delight to live and work with them in Aoshima. During a time I needed accommodation during a difficult time in the world they made it a home from home, somewhere I miss already. I was glad to work whenever I was needed just to give back to them all that I could. I would recommend this experience to anyone: if you want to surf, explore Miyazaki or simply relax and live cheap in a seaside paradise this is everything you could want and so much more. Much love for everything you guys❤️
