I really enjoyed my stay in Medellin at La Chispa. The house is located in a nice neighbourhood and allows for nice day trips within Medellín. There is a lot to explore close by and the metro is easily reachable by foot. The team at the Chispa was extremely nice and helped with all problems. The work itself was fine and I enjoyed the flexibility of deciding the working hours between the volunteers present. The dinner that is offered at the Chispa is amazing and the sleeping accommodations are also fine. Most of the time it was only is volunteers which stayed there and it did not get too full.

Casa Cultural La Chispa is located in a heritage house in the center of Medellin, close to the metro and accessible to many Paisa (inhabitants of Medellín/Antioquia) hangouts like the Botanical Gardens, the Parque Berrío, Parque Explora, and Boston. The area is slightly run down (not flashy like El Poblado, the party/backpacker area), but has a lot of charm and is fairly safe. The people who work and attend la Chispa are local activists and artist, very friendly, providing a genuine immersive experience. The only drawback is no access to the kitchen to cook or store food outside of work hours.
