We´re a Bolivian-Dutch family with two children (5 and 7 yrs), we opened our hostel in october 2016 in Samaipata. Located on 10 minutes by foot from the main square and market, with a magnificent view over the green mountains and the village Samaipata. Helping out with preparing the breakfast, general maintenance, interaction with our guests, learn new skills/improve your english/spanish language. Our place is a good spot for relaxing in general

I had a really nice time at Serena Hostel. Samaipata is beautiful, the hostel is very zen and the work is straight forward. I enjoyed my time even more when there was 2 of us volunteering, shifts are then alternated between day and night so you have more of the day to explore. The kitten Sushi is also so cute and will be missed. 🥰

Staying at the hostel was a great experience! The hostel itself is beautiful and peaceful, with lots of different areas to relax and enjoy the view of Samaipata. The tasks were easy and Bert is a good communicator, and will ask you to help out without feeling over-involved. He even provides free breakfast and buys most of the food for the volunteers. The hikes around Samaipata are incredible and there is almost always a group of people from the hostel that want to go. I would highly recommend staying/volunteering at this hostel.

What a great experience at the hostel… Samaipata is a small town with chill vibes surrounded by nature… the hostel is located up hill so you'll get a great view from the town. Bert the host is kind and very helpfull, the main tasks at the hostel are very simple and easy. I highly recommend.

Wonderful experience, Samaipata is a peaceful town, its paradise. The hostal is one of the nicest you will ever find, with an incredible garden and views of the town below. Tasks were simple and fair (no high responsibility tasks like payments, phone calls, or cleaning rooms/bathrooms)... Bert is friendly and his family are great too. If I had more time in Bolivia I would have stayed longer.
