The Experience

This school in Kathmandu provides education to almost 150 students between 4 and 14 years old. No matter the kids origin or which status their parents have, everyone should have a chance of receiving good education. The school is also home for 17 children whose parents can't take care of them. Despite what has been achieved now, we don't stop dreaming. Every kid in Nepal should have a chance at a good life, and this start with a good education!

My time with Robin and his wonderful family has been a heart opening experience. They welcome me into their home, we share home cooked meals together and were very accomodating to my allergies and being vegetarian! The children are beautiful and a pleasure to teach. You'll learn all their favourite games too! You teach a regular the school day, helping the kids through their set work in their books, I usually finished classes with something creative like singing, origami or drawing lessons. I stayed 11 nights here and wish I had longer! Ill miss everyone here dearly!

The kids of the the school are welcoming and joyful, plus they speak very good English so it is easy to connect with them. You will need to prepare something for every lesson; but this gives you the possibility to decide how you want to approach to the class. As we have a different culture the first days were challenging for us, but Rabin and his family have been very kid. They are taking care of the kids like they were their own, they are building a safe environment were the children can grow up with good education but mostly good principle. We feel very lucky for this experience!

Mr. Robin, his wife and son are doing something incredible. Their life moto is to give these kids the best possible life and education in whatever way possible. I've not met anyone so selfless and passionate about social work. I can't even begin to tell how wonderful these kids are. They are full of life, smart and deserve the best of everything in life. This organisation really needs help and I would encourage everyone to to experience this home away from home and help them in anyway possible. They deserve it. I miss all of them a lot! I also met some very amazing fellow volunteers.

My time at the the school was amazing. It was my first time volunteering and definitely one of the best things I have ever done. The children are so smart and interested in everything you teach them. Robin and his wife take good care of you!

The school was such an inspiring place. Robin and his family are incredible people and they dedicate their lives to helping the children at the the school. They are so kind and considerate and grateful for any help you can give. I loved teaching the children, they were so motivated to learn and such rays of sunshines. You do have to have lesson material prepped beforehand, but you have free rein over what you teach. You live in the the school with the other children who do not have anywhere else to go, it is such an incredible experience. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
