Inishmore is a beautiful island and the scenery is breathtaking. If you're looking to spending time in nature and disconnecting from the noise/stress of the big cities, this is the place to be. There are many touristic places you can visit and the beach is just a few minutes away walking from the lodge. Sean, the host, knows a great deal about his homeland and he can teach you a lot. He also needs all the help he can get and gives you the freedom to work on different areas where you might help him. Overall a great experience in an amazing place. Thanks Sean for all of your help!

Mr Seán gave a very welcome, he was respectful with an Irish sense of humour. Just enjoy. 😅The tasks were distributed equally in my experience, but with agreements made with the staff themselves. My tip for anyone who wants to come to the Lodge is to follow the instructions for the day. Don't focus on the kitchen if you have many bedrooms and bathrooms to clean. If there are many guests at breakfast, it's okay to clean the kitchen alone. The demand of the day that need pay attention. It was a positive experience, I recommend it.The island is beautiful and the locals are always friendly. 🤗

I had a great time on the island. The island and the property are beautiful. The work is easy and the task are repetitive. You need to come with a team mentality and be ready to change tasks at a moments request, but overall great experience. There were some disagreement between management which put stress on the volunteers because it was a lot of drama, but I tried to stay out of it and just be helpful. To work at this location you need to be laid back and willing to voice your opinion and concerns as the owner likes to discuss ideas even if they are not implemented.

This was my first world packer's experience, and it was a wonderful one. Sean was an amazing, kind-hearted, and generous host. The island was breathtakingly beautiful and serene. Whenever the weather was good, Sean would allow me to leave early and go check out the island and all its sites either by walking or by bikes available at the lodge. He would also give me a ride back into the village if I ever needed anything or whenever I needed to go to the pier to take the ferry to Galway City. I would highly recommend this place for any volunteer.

The location is incredibly beautiful and perfect for relaxation due to its serene and peaceful environment. Both the guest accommodation and the volunteer house are very cozy. Having my own room was a plus, the tasks were quite straightforward, but you have to go with the daily changing flow. Nevertheless there were a few disagreements within the management… I recommend a stay of up to 4 weeks, as staying longer might start to feel a bit isolated. And to bring books and games! The beach is conveniently close by and having access to a bicycle was great. Thanks to Michelle an Seán! :)

Thank you Petra for your review. I am happy to hear that the serene and peaceful environment as well as having your own room helped you relax while with us.
Nimo - also from Germany stayed with us as a guest for two nights - and left today. He told me that he has travelled the world and he put his experience on the Island with us at number 1. Worldpackers and visitors to Aran find Aran Walkers Lodge a very peaceful and relaxed environment .
I understand what you mean about a few disagreement among the management -they were indeed few- even lovers are not always of the same opinion.
I will take your point on board to ensure Worldpackers have a good experience with us - while most rate us highly - we will do our best so that all Worldpackers will rate us highly. Kind regards Seán.
