The Experience

We love food, good ingredients and turning them into something delicious. Our son Nol (19) is becoming a chef and wants to learn from professionals. If you have education in cooking and/or serious experience to help him professionalize, please apply! We will provide you with fun and good local, in-season ingredients. We ferment, bake bread & cakes, butcher, we make fresh pasta, sausages, smoke fish & meat, cook on a wood stove, gas or open fire

I had a wonderful month at the project, spending time learning, gardening and relaxing in nature. The property is beautiful, the food is delicious, and having my own bus to sleep in was a treat after so much time on the road! I ended up being the only volunteer (unusual) so did sometimes miss interacting with people my own age, but it was also really nice spending more time with the family who are very welcoming and friendly 🙂. I really enjoyed working with Barbara, and her enthusiasm and positivity is a joy to see!

I'm glad of time spent in this beautiful place, getting positive energy for myself in a natural environment. Thanks to the project's family for gave me the feeling to be at home. I arrived as a volunteer and I leaved as a friend. Good luck for the future

Nol is a great cook and cooking enthusiast, always coming up with amazing meals! I thank the whole family for welcoming me during the experience.

I am grateful for Barbara, Peter, Nol and Fleur for hosting me! I felt home and had a good life experience, sharing time with the family and volunteers. They provided me and my boyfriend with a big room in the house with comfortable beds and GREAT meals, prepared mostly by Nol. The dinner time was always fun and it was nice to sit all together and chat about many different subjects. It was good to learn about gardening and preparing Kefir, Kombucha and fermented vegetables with Barbara. They were flexible with time and gave us lifts when needed. It is a beautiful place to connect to nature!

The experience at the project was truly like a home away from home. They were so welcoming and made me feel like I was part of the family right away. The property is full of wonder and interesting places to explore, not to mention all the handmade designs / decorations / and projects! (so much cool wood everywhere...) Barbara and Peter (and Nol and Fluer) are so fun and full of life, I visited at the beginning of winter (volunteering as a chef), and had tons of fun picking the last of the season's mushrooms, chatting over meals & drinks, hanging with the animals, etc. I'll be back in summer!
