The Experience

For this position we are looking for people who are interested in vegetarian cooking, fresh and organic foods. We hope to exchange experiences and learnings with people who can help us with meals at Patrimônio do Matutu. We have a large garden and happy cows that give us milk to produce our own dairy products. And the best part, you’ll do this in the middle of nature with preserved forests and stunning waterfalls. :D

We loved staying at Karla's and Luiz's place. They were very welcoming, kind and caring, making sure we always had what we needed. Karla's cooking is amazing and it was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Brazilian cooking :) the place they have created is beautiful and we felt very lucky to have been able to experience that. The nature around is amazing and staing there felt very calming and recharging. We hope to be back soon!

We had an amazing time at Karla's and Luiz's place! The place they have created is truly magical and inspiring, we really loved staying there, spending time in nature, helping in the kitchen and connecting with the people who were there. The work in the kitchen is very nice, we always felt the energy was very positive and everything is done with care and love. The food that Karla is making is really amazing and it can be a nice chance to learn about Brazilian kitchen. Both Luiz and Karla are so kind and caring, they always made sure we felt at home and had what we need. Hope to be back soon!

My experience at the eco lodge was very positive. The place is beautiful, extremely quiet, and the eco lodge valley is well worth getting to know. Karla and Luiz are great hosts, always concerned with the best experience that the volunteers can have. The staff are very kind and helpful. The exchange is fair, with hours and duties well defined. I highly recommend.

A Karla, Luiz and the staff became my family. I spent almost a month at the eco lodge; in the first days, I helped with the preparation of dinners for the guests and, later, I took on small tasks in the garden and other miscellaneous jobs, as needed. In addition to the volunteer experience, the eco lodge is a place of self-discovery and tranquility. I am very grateful for this opportunity and hope to return.

Words will be insufficient to describe the experiences I lived in this place. There were so many learnings, self-observation, healing, introspection, exchanges, not only with the people who make the space what it is but with all those who have passed through the countless retreats that I had the opportunity to help bring about."
