The Experience

We would like to have someone during the seasons that can help Fatim the Host Lady to run the hostel, this is a small place we have 15 beds and a 2000 meter square garden where the village life is present, small tasks needs to be accomplished, maintaining the order of the place helping guests to have basic information check them in. There will be needed to help Fatima maintain this place clean and tidy, we are very flexible.

During the summer it is very hot so work was done most days by 10. Food was amazing and while Fatima does not speak the best English you can always understand her.

We stayed for a month, and it was just the right amount of time to disconnect and reconnect with the simple things. Fatima is a beautiful woman and makes delicious breakfasts. Sometimes communication wasn't the best, but that's part of sharing and exchanging cultures. I was a little uncomfortable with the sleeping space; as someone with allergies to dust, humidity, and mites, it wasn't very good for me. The chores were super easy: making the beds, cleaning the bathrooms, and keeping the kitchen tidy. I'm happy with the experience. Thank you, Fatima, for your hospitality :)

We highly recommend her and her travel companion to any future host.

They were responsible, respectful, and genuinely helpful throughout their stay. They completed their tasks well, maintained a positive attitude, and made a real contribution to our project.

We are grateful for their help and would be happy to welcome them back anytime.

A very good family, Fatima, her husband and her children made us feel comfortable and were very respectful, a family place connected with nature and animals. It is also very relaxed and it is to enjoy a calm and quiet place, highly recommended. 😃

I had a great time in the hostel. It's a small familiar project. Fatima and her family are really kind, warm and welcoming. The tasks were clear and easy. The breakfast provided was amazing. I stayed one week in low season so I had a room and private bathroom just for myself. Fatima made me feel very comfortable. I recommend this volunteering to get to know the local culture and to connect with real Albanian people.
