Absolutely the best experience, the host Ailson and all of the other staff members were very nice and welcoming, accomodation was perfect (I was lucky enough to have my own shale for 2.5 months), schedule was organized (i had shifts on the same time every day) and the food was amazing as well (variety would depend on how many guests there are at the pousada, but even when it could be empty, the usual food is still good). I highly reccomend this to any foreigner who is new to Brazil, and to ones who want to practice and improve their Portuguese.

My time at the inn was precisely what I needed. I wanted to spend some time learning about the local culture and language. Ailson is a fantastic host and a great language teacher! I would highly recommend coming to Luminárias if you want to take some time to reflect, enjoy a slower pace of life, and learn. I wish I could have spent more time here, but I am grateful for my time here and I will be back someday.

I really liked my experience at the Pousada, everyone was very nice, the other volunteers and the staff were respectful and friendly. The place is really pretty with nature everywhere. In this place you can truly relax, connect with nature and have a good time. My tasks were easy as I had to teach English for a few hours. There is a small town close to the Pousada that you can get there by walking around 40 minutes and there is also a waterfall 5 minutes away from the Pousada. The food was delicious and I was able to learn Portuguese and get to know the Brazilian culture. I would recommend!
