My small olive and sheep farm needs tender love and care. I currently need help getting the farm back under control by cleaning, painting, and organizing it again. I let it go too far, and I need volunteers to help get it up and running once more. Some of the tasks include: fixing up my guest cabin, pruning olive trees, gardening, and tending to my fields. Everything written by previous travelers is true. Umit is welcoming, teacher of animals of the farm, as well as cooking, Turkish history and much more. He encourages you to take in the local sights and activities, like the farmers market and Izmir bazaar. His instructions are easy to follow. Work is easy and gratifying to care for the animals, the farm, baby lambs, dogs, cats and chickens. Umit shared his family with me and will forever be a part of my heart. Get a little dirty and enjoy the experience!

This was my first time volunteering on the farm, and it turned out to be a really great experience. Umit was friendly, patient, and always willing to teach, which made everything much easier and more enjoyable. Even though the weather wasn't great on some days, it didn't take away from the experience. I'm really grateful that my first volunteering experience was such a positive one, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about it.

Participating in volunteering in Foça on the farm was a very positive experience. We had the opportunity to learn firsthand how the farm routine works, from the daily care of the farm to the simplest but most essential tasks of everyday life in the countryside. In addition, Ümit is a very pleasant person to meet. He showed us more about Turkish culture, customs, and hospitality. It was a period of great learning, exchange, and growth, which will certainly remain fondly in our memories.

Ümit made me feel like a family member living in the house. I learnt lots about how the running of the farm, the tasks were always varied and interesting, and we cooked delicious food together every day. It was a completely unique and interesting experience especially to escape to the countryside.
