The Experience

Our Foundation has been working in the Amazon 30 years with a focus on education. As part of that we arrange to host English teachers to assist in the English classes of the rural community school near the Yachana. The school is about a 1 kilometer walk from the lodge. You will have a room, three meals at the dining hall/day, access to internet, electricity, and ozone filtered water. Invitation to participate in other activities

The project is an excellent place to contribute English knowledge that native/fluent speakers take from granted but that the school critically needs. Just being in the classroom to teach basic aspects of the English language is very helpful to the kids as well as the teachers, who are themselves beginners in English. In addition, living in the jungle is such a calming and grounding experience that almost forces you to connect with nature and yourself. The people in the project are very welcoming, helpful and love to tell you about all the awesome permaculture projects they're working on.

This experience was absolutely amazing. We spent two weeks on the foundation and got to experience so many things. From pink bananas to cacao beans, it was amazing to see and experience a whole different world. The community is so welcoming and you will learn so much. The kids at the school as well as all the teachers are super nice and extremely grateful for us volunteers. I would really recommend going with someone as some afternoons can be pretty slow or use that time to head into the nearest town or visit waterfalls and caves that are in the area.

I had an amazing time at the project. Everyone was very kind and welcomed me with open arms. The location is just gorgeous and on top of that you also get the opportunity to learn more about nature and agriculture. The school gave a clear schedule that was precisely followed the entire time I was there. Even when the school was closed for a couple of days because of national holidays, Natalie and the other people at the project made sure we had something fun to do to pass the time. I would definitely recommend volunteering at the project!

I would recommend coming here for everyone wanting to experience the amazon rainforest, while still living more than comfortably! The whole foundation together felt like a longliving family. The support of everyone was great, everything is really flexible, which makes it easy to work with as a traveler with not that much of a plan for the next stays! I'll always remember staying at the project and meeting the people there. Teaching at the school there was like a dream! The teachers and students are all as friendly as you could imagine. I hope someday to come back.

It is the perfect experience for people who want to learn and have contact with nature. I really want to thank the team for their teachings and all their care. The foundation structure is spectacular. I recommend this volunteering to everyone.
