Our foundation supports dogs and cats living on the streets, abandoned, and mistreated. Currently we have 33 dogs and 17 cats in our shelter who require walks, providing meals for them, cleaning their houses and spaces, caring for them, administering medicine, finding adopters, attending to disabled dogs, raising awareness among the local population about animal abuse, and construction and repairs.

Overall, it wasn't a great experience. I loved the place, the nature is very nice and the dogs are all very friendly. The living conditions are a bit rusty but I knew that before and didn't mind it.
However, I left after two weeks instead of staying one month. Gaby, the owner, told me she thought it was best for me to leave because we didn't get along very well. I agreed on that.
What bothered me is that some rules and structures were not told to me in my first days, e.g. "no leaving after 8pm" just after 11days of my stay. If I would have known that, I wouldn't have come to volunteer.

For example, you lived with a disabled dog and you were never able to check her paws to see if she was hurt because she was crawling. You left the dogs' water bowls almost empty when you lived there. It was a very beautiful experience. The place is pleasant and peaceful, perfect if you're looking to get away a little from the city's noise. In addition, there is transport to move between towns, within a five-minute walk. The dogs are adorable, very calm and lovable. I really enjoyed my stay and I’m taking away great memories from this experience.

Definitely an experience that made me grateful for everything I get so easily, Gaby was very open to showing the full experience, and what can I say about the puppies… I’m leaving, but they take a part of me, truly an important job for society and one that lets you connect with animals on levels you may not have known, they teach us a lot and you have to be ready to learn 🫀
You have to be ready for anything and bring clothes to get dirty, hehe!

Sandy is highly recommended; she stayed with us for three weeks, during which she helped with walking the dogs, cleaning, and taking care of them, always going the extra mile. She is a very responsible, committed young woman; you can entrust her with anything, as she understands the needs of the place. She cared for our dog with a disability, identifying her needs and playing with everyone. Thank you, dear Sandy, for all the affection you showed. It will always be your home here whenever you want to return. We all miss you already.

El refugio ha sido mi primer voluntariado, el cual disfruté mucho, principalmente por el privilegio de convivir con los perros durante un mes, lo cual fue una experiencia maravillosa. Me recibieron de forma acogedora, y el sitio donde estuve durmiendo es sencillo, pero muy cómodo. Gaby es una persona muy amable y siempre estuvo al pendiente de mi estadía. Ale es una persona comprometida, responsable y, además, con muy buena vibra. Agradezco al refugio por permitirme vivir esta experiencia como mi primer voluntariado.
