The Experience
Luis es un niño increíble que cumplirá pronto 11 años de edad (nació un 15 de mayo), es Tauro y ama la tierra. Le encantan los juegos, es muy bueno para los deportes y en el ajedrez, cocina muy rico y le encantan las artes porque es muy manual y creativo. Uno de sus más grandes sueños es construir su propio auto 4x4 con un VW adaptado a su gusto, “El rancherito” es el nombre de su auto.

If you want to connect with nature and are keen to experience how it is to live without electricity and running water, this experience is for you. Be ready to tap into bioconstruction! The host Alma is living in the middle of the jungle with her son Luis and normally 5-10 volunteers. She is willing to take you on lovely trips on free days which I really enjoyed. There were volunteers from all around the world, in our time from Argentina, Israel, Sweden and Mexico which was a great mix. One tip: Bring a mosquito net if you can.

The project is still in a construction phase. Therefore, the focus is more on constriction work and not on the holistic therapy itself. I had fun building in bio constructional ways. If you seek for a time outside of the normal life, meaning without running water and electricity, this is a perfect place for you. Personally, this experiment grounded me. A hint from my side is to bring a mosquito net or a little tent if you have one. I enjoyed this minimalistic experience!

When I showed up in the Center it took them two days to respond. So I was left waiting around town. Decided I didn't want to work for people with poor communication and never actually made it to the facility

Es una experiencia increíble, aprendes a vivir con la naturaleza y conectar con todo lo que te rodea. Alma es una persona muy culta e inteligente, siempre te comparte sus historias y su conocimiento. Vivir sin electricidad y agua es un reto pero te hace apreciar todo. Recomiendo llevar mosquitero para la noche y ropa de manga larga.

La conexión con la naturaleza en este lugar es espectacular. Alma y su hijo Luis son muy buenos anfitriones, te hacen sentir parte de su familia y comparten todo su espacio para sentirte cómoda. Si buscan salirse de su zona de confort por completo, es el lugar ideal! Es difícil acomplarse al lugar si no estás acostumbrado, pero te llena de aprendizaje en todos los aspectos!
