The Experience

We are a Chilean-French couple with our son Naú, living on the edge of Patagonia's first fjord. For four years we were nomads, then we wanted to settle down. We were lucky to find this corner of paradise in the native forest of the foothills; we have been developing an agroecological farm since 2018 We have found that volunteering is a wonderful way to learn, exchange, and help one another.

Host cancelled our stay few weeks before we were supposed to come.

Gabrielle replied

Yes, it was a pity, but a few weeks before their arrival we had to cancel. Jakub was going to come for a few days, and we were in an important project for which we needed a lot of technical help, and a highly qualified person in this field happened to propose coming for a month to help us! The proposal was too good, so we had to cancel the arrival of Jakub and his partner. This is the first time this has happened to us, and we did it with as much advance notice as possible. Again, I’m sorry.

We really enjoyed our two week stay at the farm with seba and gabi. Both were very welcoming and open to share their way of living. They really cared about our well being at all time. Although it was sometimes quite challenging for a real city person like us we liked the special environment and would recommend it to all who are looking for a nice place to stay.

I had the most beautiful and special time on this farm. Seba and Gabi are wonderful hosts and really truly cared about my experience here. They took us down to the river, gave us hike recommendations, and let us snack on their various fruits around the farm. They were really communicative about what was expected of us and made the work enjoyable. Nau is so so precious and a joy to be around as well. I miss this place and people already and definitely want to return in the future. The one thing I would say to be aware of is the cabin only sleeps two people, so maybe travel with a friend!!

We loved our stay with Gabi, Seba, and Naú. The place is beautiful, between mountains and forests, with a view of the estuary and the volcano. We learned a lot from them, both about the work and about their stories and experiences. They were organized and calm. Working on their life project, so inspiring, felt like lending a hand to some friends; it felt light and enjoyable. In our free time we enjoyed nature and the books in their library. They were open with their space, they took care that we were comfortable, everything was just as we agreed and we never lacked anything. Thanks for everything, guys!
