Volunteering at Kuromame was an amazing experience. It's the perfect place to wind down if you have been on the road for a while, you have plenty of time to relax due to work being easy and only a couple of hours a day. Fuga is a great host, very flexible and happy to accomodate your specific needs and travel plans. The area is truly beautiful with lots of opportunities to experience the Japanese countryside. From shrines and temples to mountains and forest walks, there is plenty to see, and all away from the crowds you encounter in other touristic hotspots. I can highly recommend Kuromame!

I had my first volunteer experience at Kuromame, and I'm deeply grateful I chose to do it there. Fuga is an amazing host—having been a volunteer himself, he truly understands what it feels like and ensures everyone feels safe and welcome. He's kind, energetic, and always smiling! The work is easy, with a great atmosphere and good vibes. If you're looking to disconnect and enjoy meaningful moments, I highly recommend volunteering here. Leaving was hard, but I'm sure I'll be back soon!

Fuga's place is an amazing experience. Work is easy and also fun with the music playing and the other volunteers. You have plenty of time to explore the surrounding area with many shrines, hikes and bridges. Time really flew by and I wish I could've stayed longer. But above all Fuga is an incredible host. He is a cheeky guy who understands what it means to be a volunteer. He is super nice and always takes care of the volunteers in the best way possible and goes above and beyond (plus he is also a great cook and musician). I really miss this place

I had a lovely time at Fuga's guesthouse in Kuromame and I would recommend it to anyone interested in Japan and guesthouse work. Fuga is young, fun to hang out with and a great cook! He also takes you on tours around the countryside and brings you to meet locals, which is always plus! As for the work, it's very manageable and you get 3 days off a week! If you enjoy the countryside, I strongly recommend contacting Fuga!

We had a wonderful time at Fuga's. It is truely the best worldpacker experience we've ever done. After one month and half at Fuga's in the beautiful Tamba, I cannot recommend you enough to apply for a volunteer there. Fuga's is an amazing host, he is compassionate, friendly, reaaally good chef and a great tour guide. The work is easy to learn, mainly beds, cleaning and DIY. There is A LOT to do around. You might have the chance to experience Japanese BBQ and meeting the cutie Hiyo-chan🥹. We are already missing the place and Fuga. It is definitely a place you'll want to come back.
