I had a great time at Kuromame Ann :-)
The work was super easy and quickly done, it almost felt like being on vacation rather doing a volunteering lol. Even tho the area is quite rural you can explore around and go to the other small villages nearby, temples & shrines, hiking trails, cafes etc.
If you want a chill time for yourself and need to get out of a big city I really recommend this place! :)

Such a wonderful experience. The place is so beautiful and peaceful, all surrounded by nature. It was my first time ever volunteering so I was kinda scares but the host made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. Fuga would do anything he could to take us see the shrines, the city, the rural places... He would make sure we were feeling comfortable in there, plus the work was easy, with a good schedule and he would let us enjoy visiting Tamba as much as we could. Definitely I will be doing more volunteering from now on!

This was an amazing place and I believe it was even more what it is by the host Fuga! He was always concerned for the volunteers, respected the time agreed in and went out of his way to make sure we explored the area and learned more about the Japanese culture and ways. He took us around without asking for any contribution to fuel for the car and this was was his own time. I really appreciated every he tries to do to everybody inclusive and respected. Its peaceful tranquil, the mountains rivers and forests captivating. It's a place you can hear yourself and connect with nature! Thanks Fuga🌻

Fuga is an amazing host: funny, kind, caring and always willing to listen. He knows all the best places around and would take us to beautiful spots whenever he could. The work itself is very simple and Fuga is also very flexible with the schedule, which gives you the opportunity to explore other parts of Japan if you wish. Tamba is a truly beautiful place, it was, by far, one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. A huge thank you to Fuga, who played such a big part in making my time there so special. Honestly, there's only one thing I'm thinking about now: going back ! :)

As said in previous reviews, Fuga is a super host! This funny guy will do everything in his power to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The place is located indeed in beautiful and peaceful countryside. There's a lot to explore and he'll sometimes take you to shrines and other places Although you need to be ready to be independent when it comes to activitys since distances are quite long. Work wise everything was super chill and easy maximum 3 hours a day. So everyday felt like a day off! Personally Fuga made this experience very unique, fun and unforgettable!

Fuga was a fantastic host who made me feel welcomed as soon as you arrive to Tamba. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area and makes each day feel like an adventure if time allows. His positive energy and conversation speaks for how much he cares about his local community, guests, and volunteers! The work is not difficult and goes by really quick, just make sure you're actually contributing to make it easier for everyone. I will miss Tamba and Fuga dearly and would definitely recommend this experience!!

Helping around is pretty simple, with so much space to slow down when you’re free.

Spending three weeks in Tamba was a great experience. It's definitely a place to recharge your batteries and enjoy nature. Fuga makes an effort to help us get to know the town and organizes a few group tours during our stay. The working hours are fair, and the tasks are easy. The facilities are adequate. Keep in mind that you'll be staying in a rural area of Japan, so it's very quiet, and getting to the city center can be difficult without a car (but Fuga always takes us to the supermarket if we need anything). I really enjoyed my time here! Ariago, Fuga!

I had an absolutely amazing time volunteering in Tamba! From the very beginning, everything was completely stress-free. Our host, Fuga, was incredible. He treated us so well—he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The daily tasks and work were super relaxed and laid-back, which allowed us to fully enjoy the place. On top of that, Fuga went above and beyond by taking us on a ton of fantastic activities, including hikes around the beautiful area.
The overall vibe was perfect, and the other volunteers were super friendly and cool. I highly recommend!!!

I had a really lovely experience volunteering in Tamba! Fuga was an amazing host, always very attentive, kind and making sure everyone felt comfortable. He organized many fun activities and showed us lots of interesting places around the area. The work itself was easy and simple, and the working hours were always short and well organized, leaving plenty of time to relax and explore. The atmosphere was very welcoming, friendly and fun! The town and the surrounding nature are absolutely beautiful. It's a perfect place to disconnect from busy city life, relax and enjoy a slower pace.
