The Experience

Usually we walk with up to 6 rescue dogs first thing in the morning followed by a wide variety of tasks around the place depending on what needs doing and the time of year. Spring involves garden tasks, in autumn we make wine and preserve fruits and vegetables. We make craft beer several time through the year. There are cleaning and other jobs like recycling and renovation projects connected with the campsite and guest house.

Volunteering at Camping the camping was a great experience! I really liked walking with the dogs and getting to know all of them. Sara and John are great hosts and it was nice to talk to them about the camping and Bulgaria. We helped with beer brewing and since it was out of season there were a lot of maintaining tasks to do outside, on the camping and in the garden. Sara and John cook good food and we also cooked dinner a few times. The place we were staying in was cosy and comfortable, in the evening we would light the fire to stay warm. I would recommend this place!

Even though we were out of the season, the campsite was a very nice to place to visit, where we helped with maintanence. We repaired Stone walls and a fence. We trimmed trees and cleared the garden. Also, it was a very good experience to be around the 6 dogs every day and take them for their desired walks. We definitely learned a lot about how they behave and how to respond. A highlight of our stay was the very well planned beer brewing process with John. We are keen on tasty food, so we were very happy with the amazing cooking skills of Sara and also they were open to us cooking for them.

It was a pleasure volunteering at the camping. John and Sara were very welcoming and instantly gave me that home-like feeling. I find them to be intriguing, open-minded and genuine people. The small village, peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature help you to take a step away from the busy dynamics of our day to day life, clear your mind and simply appreciate the "little" things. My tasks were mostly cleaning and some gardening work. I also enjoyed making beer with John, he is such a fun person to be around. My personal best were all the cute dogs and cats! The food was delicious too

Volunteering at Johns and Sara's campsite is now in the top list of best experiences I've had the fortune to live ! One of the main tasks is walking the dogs every morning (Badger, Raia, Toby who Effing loves butter and Vanilla) the dynamics of walking all of them together was truly fun and genuine. I also had the fortune to arrive just in time for wine harver season, so making organic homemade wine off the grapes John and Sara had grown themselves in their vineyard was such an absolute great time. Tasks were flexible and easy, also of course the was food delicious! TY!
