The Experience
It would be fantastic if you had an International driver's license or Japanese driver's license. Priority to those WorldPackers with a driver's license. Your responsibilities will be varied, including picking up and dropping off guests at train stations (an international driver's license is needed - super easy to get) , housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and providing guests with local guidance.

I had a amazing time at Thethethethe hostel. the hostelis an unique building whit a great outdoor seating area where you can socialize, play music or just listen to the sound of the river, where you also can swim. Scout, the host is a great guy, now friend, he makes the hostelfeel like home, know everything about the hikes you can make and his breakfasts are the best ever. The work is easy, making beds and cleaning and driving to pick up the guests, so bring your drivers license. the hostelhas a great common room and is very sociable to make new friends I hope to come back soon.

I had a wonderful time atthethethe hostel! Scout is amazing—helpful, full of stories, and makes delicious breakfasts. the hostelhas a unique charm, with a river right outside for swimming and great hiking trails nearby. It's perfect for cycling and exploring. The work is easy—making beds, cleaning, and sometimes driving. If you're looking for a peaceful spot in nature with great people, this is the place. Thanks to Scout for an unforgettable experience! I'll definitely return on my next trip to Japan.

Volunteering at the hostelhas truly been an amazing experience. Scout was a great host and person to talk to! I made loads of new friends while staying here as the common areas are so welcoming everyone comes out to chat. the hostelitself is in an old onsen which is awesome and it's right next to the river. The sound of the river and birds have made everything so peaceful. The work I had to do was mainly cleaning the hosteland other rooms which was super chill and everything is there for you to get on with your tasks. If I have the opportunity to come back I 100% will!
