Juan is a very kind and generous man. He did everything he could to make my stay comfortable and made me feel at home. We did have some issues with communication because Juan doesn't speak English and my understanding of Spanish is very limited, but we used Google translate and I feel like my Spanish improved a lot in my short time there. He lives off the grid and heats his home and the volunteer quarters with a wood stove. There is a gas heater for the volunteer bedroom but I had issues using it so I mostly kept warm by putting hot rocks heated on the wood stove in the bed.

Juan replied
