The Experience

We believe that a child’s future success and advancement in life is greatly influenced by their early educational experience as those who have gone to school early develop an interest in education more than those who have not participated in early learning education – learning how to get along in groups, work under teacher supervision, etc. They also receive encouragement to express their feelings and ideas through building, dancing and drawing.

I really enjoyed my time with Conjepta and her family. She is welcoming and caring. Unfortunately, I had to cut short my trip because I got sick but Conjepta & Marko took really good care of me, taking me to the doctor etc... hoping that I will get better soon. I only got the chance to go the school a couple of times but I really enjoyed my time there. The kids are eager to learn and energetic and the other teachers are really welcoming and want to make a difference. I thaugh the kids some basics in French, English and Maths. I would definitly go back if I get that chance again.

A great stay with Marko's family. Conjepta provides everything you need and her family is lovely and welcoming. The kids at Ejos school are eager to learn and very respectful and appreciative. A beautiful experience overall

Volunteering with the organization Organisation was eye-opening and rewarding experience. I began teaching the baby class but switched to Grade 5 with my partner, allowing us to connect more with the kids. We taught from 8 AM to 12:30 PM and return to our host family for lunch, then explore the city as the local library was often closed. The host family was incredibly welcoming—learning to make Ugali with Conjepta and exploring Arusha with her son Tyson were highlights. The school (Ejo's) and host family weren't connected but both provided a meaningful experience that we won't forget!

My experience with Whiterose exceeded expectations. Marko was incredibly attentive, and staying with his family was wonderful. The hospitality at his aunt's house was exceptional, and Tyson became a great friend. The only downside in the school volunteer work was a lack of clear communication regarding roles and schedules, which could improve with better coordination. I've made lifelong friends, especially Sushil, and cherished afternoons at the library with Mary. The country is a natural wonder worth visiting multiple times.

Interning and volunteering at the the organization was truly a life-changing experience. Learning about each student's and kids' different perspectives on education, community, etc. changed the way I thought of my life honestly. For most the culture can be very different; however, for me it felt just like home. Being an African myself, getting the chance to visit my homeland and Tanzania and seeing its true glory firsthand with the hardworking, caring people gave me SO much pride for my heritage. This was the best experience of my life and I thank Marko and the the organization!
