The Experience

Help us grow food and take care of the land at Sukia Kin: garden beds, compost, planting, trail and water-system maintenance, and the small daily jobs that keep an off-grid property running. Hands-on, outdoors, mostly mornings, with the team. Ideal if you have some gardening or permaculture experience — or real curiosity and the will to get your hands dirty. Off shift: rivers, waterfalls, ocean-view lookouts, jungle gym.

I had an amazing experience volunteering at the hostel! The work was easy (mostly reception and housekeeping) and the hours were good to still be able to explore Drake Bay! Alejandro & Lucia were great hosts/managers. They both made sure I was good & explained tasks well. The staff dorm I stayed in was amazing. I got to do some of the tours offered by the hostel as well. The only downside was that the power would go off and on sometimes but not the hostels fault, I did go during rainy season too! Overall I had a great time & would recommend the experience to others!

The most incredible experience! This was my first time volunteering so I was really nervous at first but as soon as I arrived, I knew I had made the right choice. Drake Bay is astonishingly beautiful and the people are so friendly. David was very welcoming and easy to get along with. He has many crazy stories that inspire you to live life to the fullest. Alejandro and everyone else at the hostel were so fun and helpful. I made some truly unforgettable memories and great friends. If you are an open spirit and looking for adventure, this is the place for you! Pura Vida!

I had a wonderful time in Drake Bay, everyone is very welcoming and fun to work with. Dorms were great, I recommend bringing a hand held fan it will be very hot no matter the time of year. Structure of tasks were a little unclear but manageable. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and will miss the friends I made!
