The Experience

Bali is walkdown as best tourist destination in Southeast Asia, but in certain area at the countryside, some places are untouchable by tourism, and this make peoples in this area just become supporter tourism only. Base on this situation we try to upgrade the value of the children in the village on their language skill. This skill will help them to open their mind and explore more to see the world and find better opportunities and better job.

Lovely people and a beautiful culture. Lucky enough to experience the Galungan ceremony.

We have seen a lot of the culture of the local people here, because of Galungan. Everybody was very friendly and it was really nice to meet the children en help them a little further in their process of learning English. Normally there will be a teacher on mon, tue, thurs, friday and you will assist. For us it was a little different, but everybody still made sure we felt at home. Definitely use your 'days off' to climb the Mount Batur, see some nature by motorbike or visit the vanilla farm at the end of the road. Good experience!

I had such a great time volunteering! Staying in the village was an amazing experience, and the local people were incredibly kind and welcoming. I got to experience the authentic culture of Bali, far from the touristy areas, and it was truly unique. I volunteered in both Japanese and English classes, which was not only fun but also a valuable learning experience for me as a university student studying language teaching. I highly recommend this volunteer program to anyone who wants to experience the real Bali culture. A huge thank you to everyone in the village for making me feel so welcome!

This week was an unforgettable time for me. My host family was very kind to me and always cared about me. The people in the village were also warm and I came to love this village. I studied Japanese with about 12 other students in the three hours of Japanese class each day, and they were all very studious. If I have the opportunity, I would like to come to this village again. I ate at a nearby restaurant called a warung every day, and all the Balinese food cooked by the mothers was delicious. If you come to volunteer in this village, please try it.

My experience was very fulfilling. I taught English to kids aged 8-13 years old, around 30 students. The lessons were only 4pm-5pm Mondays to Fridays (except Wednesdays). The kids were respectful and eager to learn, it was a lot of fun teaching them. It was my first time to teach a language and to young kids; there is also an assistant teacher who helps with translation to Bahasa. Ketut and his family was the definition of true Balinese hospitality! The room is clean and comfortable, with a kitchenette. There is a nearby warung where you can also order delicious authentic Balinese food.
