I worked during the busy days of summer in august and the not so busy days of early september. It was definitly hot but knowing at the end of the shift i could refresh and go out with my friends i made or eat delicious dinner from the chef (wonderful guy, great singer also) always gave me energy. The work is simple and short hours. Plenty of time to visit the islands, eat wonderful udon, go on the train and visit local temples. All and all, i'll definitly come back!

Working together with volunteers from other countries was a wonderful experience. Spending time with them was the best time of my life. The hostel was a social, quite adequate, and fun place. We became friends with the guests who came. The hostel chef brings everyone together. On top of that, he even gave a live concert! Chizuru-san was very attentive, and her communication with the volunteers was excellent. It is the best place to choose for wonderful friendships and a great experience!

It was truly an unforgettable experience. I made so many amazing memories and met some incredible people along the way. We laughed, had fun, explored new places, and most importantly, we were always there for each other.

I really hope we get to see each other again someday. And if you’re reading this review, don’t think twice — come stay at Hostel Jaqa! You won’t regret it! ❤️

My time at the hostel was so much fun that I really regretted only booking for a month. Chizuru took us to a local matsuri, so we were able to fully enjoy spots that only locals know about and experience the authentic local vibe. The Japanese staff members I worked with, as well as the staff from all over the world, were so kind, sweet, and adorable. We stayed up chatting until late every night, and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. 😭

My stay at the hostel was absolutely wonderful! Chizuru is so welcoming and makes great effort to introduce you to her community through her friends, and everyone is lovely and willing to chat. The work hours are super chill, and you've got plenty of time to do your own thing after work. If you're lucky, snack man might visit and bring donuts or mochi! I even had time to attend dance classes once per week. Takamatsu as a whole is also a lovely place to stay. 10/10, I would definitely do it again!
