I had an amazing experience working as a marketing volunteer at the hostel. Connie is a fantastic host who is very hospitable. She quickly brings you into the community of the hostel as well as the wider community of Choachí. She gives you everything you need to make the volunteering experience worthwhile. the hostel itself is beautifully designed, well located in the town and is easy to reach from Bogotá. Regarding the work, it's fun, very flexible and the agreed hours were respected. Lots of love for this the hostel! :) <3

Connie was a very friendly and helpful host.
She introduced me to local restaurants and people which helped me feel more connected with Choachí.
I was unfortunately quite unwell at the start of my time with Connie (and likewise arrived after 5 months of travelling), but she supported me and helped arrange an appointment with a local doctor, so she really does take care of you and want the best for her volunteers!
The running of the BnB does require high standards, which unfortunately due to my illness and general fatigue, I couldn’t give my best, but Connie was very understanding.

I spent a month at the hostel and it was an amazing experience. The place is beautiful, quiet, and welcoming. Connie, the host, prepares delicious healthy breakfasts every morning and is full of energy, ideas, and kindness. The work includes helping with room cleaning and creating social media content, with plenty of independence and creative freedom. The village, just 1.5 hours from Bogotá, is safe, green, and peaceful — ideal for reconnecting with nature. Highly recommend this place and its wonderful host!

I loved both the public and the private message. That idea hadn’t occurred to me before—honestly, I had so much more to say about your work with us, and I could have expressed it in a longer private note… In short, I truly enjoyed being part of a team with you. I felt as if we had already known each other, both on a work level and a personal one.

Choachi is a nice place for volunteering as you really get to have an authentic Colombian experience a bit off the beaten track but still close to and easy to reach from Bogota. the hostel is a lovely place and the host Connie is welcoming and truly wants you to have a great time at the hostel and in Choachi. She is also very open to new ideas and helps you plan activities for your days off, like a coffee tour or hikes and has lots of local recommendations. Will for sure visit again in the future!
