The Experience

Borneo's coastal forests shelter some of the world's most endangered wildlife. But invasive species, weather damage, and lack of monitoring constantly threaten what's left. As a Forest Ranger, you'll patrol trails, document wildlife, and protect the ecosystem keeping this island alive. You'll gain real field experience, an SSI-recognised Completion Certificate, and a story most travellers never get. No experience needed.

I truly had such a wonderful experience during my time volunteering with the reserve. Not only did I feel so welcome but I also got to learn so much about the culture and the amazing wildlife on land and in the reserve. Even though I was only there for two weeks, I felt so at home being next to the reserve every day. I had so much fun and laughter with everyone there and I know it's an experience that will stay with me forever. Truly such a tranquil and beautiful island with the most amazing people. I will definitely be coming back one day!

I had the most incredible experience volunteering here. 2 weeks was not enough! I could spend a life time there. The whole the reserve team are not only the loveliest people I have met but also made me feel like apart of the family. They are so passionate about the reserve, I learnt so much and I will forever be grateful for the experience and I'm planning on going back next year!! 1000000% recommend to everyone!!

You came as a volunteer… but left as family.
Two weeks was never enough for a soul like yours the ocean felt you, and it will remember you. Your impact lives on in every wave, every reef, every life you touched. This is not goodbye… it’s a “see you home again next year.” We will take care your baby coral💙
