I really enjoyed my time with the alpacas and goats. Anne was a great host, really helpful and always open to answer my questions about the animals or Australia in general.
The work was mostly feeding the animals, mixing feed and weeding. I mostly finished at 14.45 which led me to enjoy my afternoon as I wished. This is a great place to get in touch with nature and to escape city life.

We loved our time at Madison's Mountain Retreat! Anne, Rachel, Garth and Kyan were great company and easy to get on with - the work was clearly structured and we got into a nice rhythm with feeding times and other tasks. We worked a 5 day rotating schedule, working 5 days and then 1 day off. The work was very rewarding and we miss the alpacas + goats dearly! Thank you for having us, we had an amazing time and would recommend!!😁🦙🙌

My experience at Madison's the farm was amazing! I had a great time taking care of the many animals. The days were well structured and the tasks were consistant. The work included a lot of heavy lifting and the site is very secluded (I would recommend coming at the same time as other volunteers). On off days, the local pie shops are a must visit. I would definitely recommend if you have a love for alpacas!

I had a great time at Madison’s and learned a lot, thanks to Anne, who always answered my questions surrounding farm life and work!
Said work can be pretty physically demanding, depending on what’s on the agenda for the day, but I found it to be very doable and overall well balanced.
Days usually start at 8:45 and an hour break is always included.
As said in another review, the room you stay in doesn’t lock and the area is pretty secluded, so there is not much around in terms of activities or social life, but if you’re fine with that and want to spend time in nature, I def recommend it!

I have an amazing experience at Madison's! The property is beautiful, the animals were great, and the staff are lovely! The work was very fair and Anne was great to explain and show us exactly what needed to be done! I loved getting back in touch with nature, and getting some time to focus on myself. I hope I get to return, as I already miss it!
