This volunteering was my first on worldpackers and I surely recommend it! Carmen is a helpful and welcoming person, was really flexible with the shifts, as well as with the day off. Work was easy and I had a lot of free time during which I was able to explore many beautiful beaches and the city. Hostel is good located, the area around is calmer and you can have more local experience. To be able to meet more travelers I recommend coming during the peak season.

Filip was undoubtedly a valuable asset to the hostel's smooth operation. He learns easily, is methodical in tasks and has a lot of initiative.
Unfortunately, due to personal problems I couldn't make a complete evaluation of Filip, but I could not fail to recommend Filip, as it was indeed without a doubt a very positive experience hosting him at the hostel.

I had a great experience at the hostel. The atmosphere is cozy, fun, and full of good energy, and I was warmly welcomed by Carmen. The schedules are well organized and fairly distributed, with the possibility of swapping shifts with other volunteers, which allowed me to explore Portimão and its amazing surroundings. I was lucky to be here during a festive season, with events all over the city. Besides learning from the tasks and interacting with guests, I made friendships with volunteers that I will carry for life. I'm grateful for the opportunity and hope to return soon!

I had a great time at the hostel. Carmen was lovely and super flexible to my needs, and it was a great location. Sadly I was disappointed as there were not many others staying at the hostel while I was there, but this was not the hostels fault, and I still had a good time. I would recommend coming closer to peak season if you would like to meet people.

Overall nice experience. Carmen is a lovely lady who cares a lot about making the guests at home. She expects the volunteer to be organised, maintain a clean place and can keep things in order. The other volunteer was fun and friendly, that made my stay more comfortable and easy. Muito obrigado pela experiência, Carmen :)

Volunteering in the hostel was a good experience, the property is well equipped and close to markets, bus stop and restaurants. The schedule varies most of days due to daily tasks, check in and number of volunteers. So you should be flexible, the manager is also flexible with your hours and day off. Recommend it.
