I had a really lovely time here. Friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms, beautiful lake views. This is a really chilled out place, there's not as much to do like in the cities but I found it really refreshing. Even the location isn't a huge problem, once you get to the train station you can easily go to Kyoto, Otsu or even Osaka on the express. Thank you everyone!

The month flew by at an incredible speed. It was truly a wonderful first experience, and I sincerely thank the entire team. Everything was well-organized from the start, with easy tasks and a clear monthly schedule provided on the day of arrival. There are countless places to visit around the lake, whether by bike or by train, and Kyoto is only around 30/40 minutes away from the guesthouse. I will miss this place!

I had such a wonderful 7-week stay ! It was my first volunteering experience and I honestly enjoyed it. Work is easy (mostly cleaning rooms/shared spaces), although some days are busier than others. On quieter days, you still have to stay on shift, but there are always other things to help with. Hours were always respected, and the team was kind, helpful and flexible when needed. I really liked sharing time and meals with other volunteers. The area feels a bit quiet at first, but there's lots to explore by bike, train, and Kyoto isn't far. Thanks to Akane and the whole team for having me ! :D

The guest house is a very organized place to work at. Expectations were outlined right away and proper training were provided. We were given beds in the mixed dorm along with the guests. The kitchen/living room is massive and well equipped, can be busy in peak hours if the place is fully booked. Very close to the beach! The supermarket can be reached by bicycle, and the station is around 1.3km walk away, which will take 40 minutes train ride to Kyoto! The staff were all nice and we're all thankful for all their help

The experience at the guest house was incredible! All the staff are incredibly helpful and the guesthouse is in a beautiful location. The volunteer tasks are extremely well organised, which leaves you free to explore other areas. The bikes were in perfect condition, so we didn't hesitate to use them a lot for going for rides. Definitely a highly recommended experience!
