My experience at the host's restaurant was great and wonderful! Lúcia and Paulo treated me as if I were part of the family. They helped me in every possible and imaginable way. The volunteers' resting place is simple; it has a ceiling fan, boys and girls sleep separately. Not luxurious, but welcoming and safe. There are cameras installed and there is a washing machine. Meals are prepared at the restaurant that is about 5 minutes from the house where we sleep. The village is really magical. They provide opportunities for volunteers to earn money as freelancers. My eternal gratitude!

A Lúcia é uma pessoa super trabalhadora e cozinha muito bem. A nossa comunicação inicial foi um pouco devagar e, por ter um perfil ainda sem avaliações, me gerou uma certa insegurança. Mas quando eu cheguei ela foi super solícita e até me esperou em C.B. para me dar carona. Durante o FENFIT o restaurante fica bem movimentado e o trabalho é intenso. Talvez fosse interessante colocar um número maior de voluntários na alta temporada. A acomodação também carece de alguns cuidados básicos. Ela fica na casa onde o Paulo, marido da Lúcia, reside e possui um bar. Agradeço a recepção e oportunidade!

Good afternoon, Marina. So we had a miscommunication, yes—sometimes on my end to respond and sometimes on yours as well; our schedules didn’t match. Thank God in the end everything turned out fine. The big events take place in July, which is FENFIT, and in December; those are dates when the number of volunteers grows. First I try to talk to you and explain that we have many demands indeed and that the work is intense. Even so, the volunteers are able to rest and have their meals.

Foi ótimo estar no anfitrião! Fui no Festival de Forró, a cidade estava cheia e o movimento do restaurante bem intenso. Dona Marlúcia e seu Paulo super me acolheram, assim como a equipe contratada pro festival e os outros voluntários maravilhosos. O trabalho era atender nas mesas e no balcão. A comida é gostosa e bem servida, porém tem que ir ao restaurante para comer ou pegar uma marmita. A hospedagem fica a 500m do restaurante, em cima do bar do seu Paulo, que às vezes funciona até mais tarde. Itaúnas é incrível, as pessoas estão dispostas a ajudar o tempo todo, até a conseguir carona.

Minha experiência durou apenas 3 dias, encerrando antes do esperado. Lúcia é uma pessoa querida, ótima cozinheira e muito batalhadora. Contudo, a infraestrutura, organização e discrepâncias nas informações da plataforma afetaram negativamente. Acho importante pensar alguns pontos, como portas com trancas para melhorar a segurança (casa fica acima do bar), iluminação no banheiro e alinhamento realista das informações da plataforma (ex: lavanderia é apenas um tanque). Acredito que, ao atentar para esses aspectos, será possível garantir uma experiência mais segura e satisfatória aos voluntários.

Good afternoon!!!! The length of stay here was quite short, it didn't even need to be evaluated; the organization was underway, I explained it before, we managed to resolve it, the volunteers had a really nice stay, and the discrepancy of information on the platform doesn't change a single hour, did I mention laundry? Lights? Everything was adjusted, everyone who passed through here worked a lot and really enjoyed the festival, with a lot of transparency and without demands. Suggestion!! Transparency in the chosen role.
