The Experience

Hello traveler! My name is Yani, I live with my husband Tony and my dear son Anthony. We live in downtown Havana in a spacious house. We have a farm about six blocks from the house, and we need help with tasks such as farming, cleaning, waste sorting, recycling, among others. Due to the current situation, the tasks may vary according to the needs. Come be part of our family and experience Cuban culture!

Yachira and Yani were extremely accommodating, and super helpful in allowing me to explore their country. They were very willing to connect with their friends for guest houses and taxis.

Yachira and her mom are amazing! They instantly make you feel welcome and a part of the home. If you're looking to learn about Cuban lifestyle, culture, and art, this is the perfect opportunity. The house is really comfortable and clean, the food was delicious, and the location is great. They are super laid-back and flexible, more focused on sharing ideas and culture rather than following a rigid work schedule (the work is basically nonexistent). Yachira is the best tour guide of the city and took me around to all the amazing sites, making things so much easier to navigate. Highly recommend!

We are very grateful for your beautiful energy here at home. You're really brave. You traveled to two countries despite the cancellation of your flight and you arrived to discover my homeland with tremendous enthusiasm. I know there were things left unresolved... but I also know we'll meet again on the next adventure. Here you have your home in the heart of Centro Habana. A big hug, dear Natalia.

Very unique and good experience in a historic city and country. The house and the work in right in the center of Havana. The host provides great food, and takes you around to show the great city. Superfun experience overall

Thanks Fred, affectionately the Cuban blond. You adapted quickly to any circumstance, even to our power outages. We've nicknamed you the most enthusiastic and cheerful guy. You already know all of Havana by bike.
Nice to meet you. Good vibes and good luck, friend.

I would definitely recommend the guest house, as its a perfect way to get to experience, see, understand Cuban life and culture. Just arriving in this country can be challenging, so its amazing to be surrounded by helpful and lovely locals to show you around (both practically and culturally). Both the guest house as Yanis house are located in the vivid Centro Habana, which is an amazing area to live. I lived in both, but had a preference for the guest house (cleaner, more spacious, and wifi that worked during blackouts). The work at the farm was sometimes a bit non-existent, but chill.

Thanks Kobus, I’m eager to read the book. Very happy that Cuba is an inspiration for you. Remember the chapter you promised me about the creative power outages at Firas House. Hahaha
Yes, yes, that’s already part of the culture and we’re living it together. Thank you for your company and dedication to my land. I know that every day a little piece of it is yours too. You are the guy who has been with us the longest, and really your company is appreciated. We love you.
