The Experience

Packers felizes fazem a casinha feliz. Você aprende um pouco da gente e ensina um pouco de você <3

The hostel is very well located in the center of Curitiba which has many things to do, so you will not get bored. The hostel is very chill and at times only had a few guests, tasks are very straight forward and the schedule is communicated early with a lot of flexibility. The hostel was largely managed through Whatsapp which felt impersonal for me, however, the hosts have explained to me that this was a rare situation because of illness and other commitments. My goal was to improve my Portuguese and meet new people and for sure I did this. Thank you James & Rafa for the opportunity! :)

Everyone here is very welcoming and willing to help. They have a WhatsApp group for the staff and the owners usually respond to messages very quickly, with clear communication. The work itself is easy and as described on WorldPacker. Rafa and James (The owners) were very kind and helpful. They arranged for me stay in a room by myself as I was having troubles sleeping while doing the overnight shifts. The Hostel is clean and has a good wifi connection with lots of sitting areas. I would highly recommend the hostel for new (Like me) and experienced packers! Will miss this cozy place.

The experience at the hostel was my first volunteer experience and it was the best decision to come here !! I was welcomed wholeheartedly by everyone and introduced with patience and kindness to the tasks. Rafa and James are awesome and it was more like a “friends basis” than a “work basis”. The work shifts were more than manageable and very relaxed. If there were any doubts or if I needed any kind of help everyone was there immediately to help me. I made awesome friends there and will definitely come back sometime to visit ! I can recommend to everyone to come here <3

I had a great time at the hostel. I was a little bit nervous because this was my first experience as a volunteer, but the staff and the hostess (Rafa) did everything to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I only stayed for 5 days, so the tasks were kind of easy, nothing too complicated (cleaning, check in and out, guard the hostel and make the guests feel welcomed). If you're thinking to volunteer there I totally recommend you to do it!

That was, definitely, one of the best experiences I have ever had. I knew that getting out of my comfort zone would be hard, but staying at the hostel made that so natural and easy that made me think "Why not staying here for, like, some years?" All the people I met, all the experiences that I had made me a better person. At the first week, all the work that I had to do were so easy and quick that made me feel like home. And Rafaella is such an amazing, incredible and lovely person. I would recommend the hostel to everyone I know. I will come back, as a worldpacker or a guest s2
