It was a transformative experience. A true immersion in the local culture with meaningful insights about bioconstruction, sustainable management, and sertanejo culture. Rodrigo is a great connoisseur of the Cerrado and its complexities. I had the opportunity to experience moments of meditation, a connection with nature, and total silence among the trees and the Rio Formiga.

Manganga is a simple, clean, safe and cozy place. I stayed at an agroforestry ranch with the reserve at the back of the yard, some fruit trees still growing. Rodrigo, the host, is polite, attentive and knows a lot about plants, animals, and the climate. Conversations with him always bring some learning. the reserve routine was calm, he proposed a detox and a natural healing process, without hurry. The meals are made on the wood stove. I spent days reading while watching the birds on the ranch roof. I saw some Cerrado animals that I had never seen in person.

My experience at Manganga in the reserve of the reserve was relaxing, as the host Rodrigo proposed, a relaxing detox in real contact with the reserve, the forests, trails, ideas and the concept of sustainability, preservation of the environment, in addition to having easy access to the reserve — one day — the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen in my life: the crystal-clear waters reserve! The reservation experience was very good, Rodrigo explained well how to reach Manganga, as it is a place with difficult access, and when I arrived he picked me up at a nearby reservation. Rodrigo, Andreia, Rosa, and Luisa are lovely people, very attentive and polite, they made me feel at home. I received on-site guidance and we went to crack Jatobá at Mr. Zé Meninin's house. I advise coming prepared with equipment, a pair of boots, pants, a good tent and insect repellent. If possible, a means of transportation to reach the sightseeing spots.

The days here at Manganga have been amazing. Rodrigo, Andrea, Rosa and Luisa are wonderful people. They are caring, affectionate. I keep learning a lot from all of them. The “fazendo” is a very special place where I could connect deeply with myself and with nature. The reserve is something to talk about. They are very careful with the reserve nature and I felt part of all this. I will even extend my volunteering for another week to live more of all this here. I only thank everyone for everything! You all are spectacular! Unique experience.
