The Experience

Join our team at Hostelle, a women-only hostel in Amsterdam! Help organize events, create social media content and bring good energy to the hostel. We’d especially love volunteers excited about Halloween and ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event, 21–25 October), especially if you’re into techno, house and music events. You may also help with reception shifts, including some nights from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., occasional day shifts and light daily tasks.

I just had the best summer at the hostel! Booking a women-only hostel was definitely the best decisions. I really appreciated the way the work was organized: the workload was fair, the managers were flexible, and we had a lot of freedom when it came to organizing events and creating social media content. But most importantly, it was an incredible human experience in such a welcoming and fun environment. Meeting guests from all over the world every day, sharing the experience with other volunteers, and being supported by such a kind reception team made the whole experience really special 🌟

Overall, I had a great volunteering experience. The best part was definitely the people I met I made amazing friends with the other volunteers, and Ashley and Brandy at reception were always so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The workload felt fair overall, although we didn't get the two days off listed on the platform, and you may occasionally be contacted on your day off, As a solo female traveler, I personally didn't feel very safe in the area, there were a few security incidents because of the location of the hostel that made me feel unsafe especially working at night

The hostel is beautiful, the volunteers' room is super comfortable, and the work itself is really nice — whether it's at reception, creating events, or social media content ✨ I met so many amazing people during my stay, and special thanks to Jascy, Ricardo, Brandy, and the other volunteers I shared the experience with 💕 There were a couple of issues with the room and some situations that could've been handled better with clearer communication, but overall I'm really grateful for the experience and all the lovely people I got to meet xx 💐
