The Experience

Max and Mel are a couple from Argentina who love our hostel. We are new to the property and are looking for people who want to help us, get to know us, and share beautiful moments. We like the idea of exchanging cultures and languages. We offer breakfast and a bed for those who want to help us. Our goal is to help both sides, and for whoever chooses us to be able to spend a few days like at home. We look forward to seeing you.

I had a nice experience volunteering at this hostel. Max & Mel are very friendly and welcoming, and I felt comfortable and at home during my stay. Bonus points for their sweet dog, Viernes! The tasks were simple and expectations were reasonable, which made the work easy to manage. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. It's a good option for volunteers looking for a low-pressure and friendly place 😊

Thank you for visiting us!
We love that you felt at home, that's what we're all about.
Your visit to our home was a great help, you were always one step ahead, we would arrive and everything was done, you surprised us every day and we are very grateful.
It was a pleasure to exchange language and culture.
Thank you for your willingness.
Without a doubt, anyone would want to have you.
Thank you!!

My experience at the hostel the hostel was a pleasant experience.
I was there during the off-season, so there weren't many people and the weekly tasks were very calm.
Max let me organize myself as I wished for what there was to do.
He has always been very reactive, attentive and has always communicated really well.
The hostel itself is pleasant to live in, the view is crazy and not far from the center at the same time.
Thanks again to both of you for the welcome and I wish you success for the coming season✨️

Mel and Max are amazing hosts; I felt welcome from the moment I walked through the door! During my stay in El Calafate, I made new friends. I was the only volunteer and my schedule was from 6:30 to 11:30 in the morning. I helped prepare breakfast for the guests and afterwards I took care of cleaning the bathrooms and making the beds. Max and Mel also work with you, so they never leave you alone with everything. The hostel is in a great location, with amazing views, and only a 10-minute walk from the center. I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel!

Saga was invaluable at our hostel. From the moment she arrived, she showed a great willingness to help, both with guests and with the hostel's tasks. She is very active and proactive, anticipating what is needed. She quickly learned the reception system and handled it in a few hours. Her dedication and energy were essential to our new venture. I hope she can continue helping others with her enthusiasm. Thank you, Saga, for your support and for choosing to be with us!

My experience at the hostel the hostel has been INCREDIBLE. I felt at home from the first day, Max, Meli and their dog Viernes welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like one more member of the family. It's a hostel with a very special energy where a community with the rest of the travelers is created, super beautiful. What a stroke of luck to end up here by chance and be able to say that I have a home on the other end of the world. A piece of me stays in Calafate! P.S. The work is very simple and manageable, Max and Meli are on top of us all the time and we share the tasks among us.
