The Experience

Hello! My name is Ioanna, from Greece and I live with my two beautiful boys , aged: 3years and 5years in Brussels, near the center! Being social and open minded, I would love to welcome to our home someone who could help me out with my children and also with some cleaning and at the same time interact with each other and share our culture, cooking, language etc. Your schedule will be flexible and you will be able to visit around easily!

Staying at this home was fun with the two little boys and their funny remarks, especially at bedtime with 'Hush Little Baby' and 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' playing in the background – they never seem to get tired of it, and it always brings a smile to my face. Iona, our host, is simply wonderful. Her warmth and friendliness have made me feel right at home. Plus, the location couldn't be better – just a quick 20-minute walk to the city center, with easy access to other parts of the country. Thank you!! ευχαριστώ, merci. =) Best wishes to the family.

My experience was too nice, I enjoyed learning from Leo and Achillas, Ioanna makes you feel welcome and part of the family, the work is flexible but that does not mean it is not serious, taking care of children requires responsibility, energy and patience. I really learned and enjoyed this opportunity a lot. I hope to see them again 🫶🏽 Also: Ioanna cooks super delicious!!

It was my first time volunteering and I must say that it couldn't be better! Ioanna is not just a host, she will also become your friend and as soon you arrive, you will feel home. The boys are so sweet, lovely and energetic. Ioanna's food is *delicious* and I had a super flexible routine (the location of Ioanna's place makes super easy to go around). We exchanged a lot of our culture and experiences. Gonna miss this city, this family and the good moments we had together!

This was my first ever experience volunteering, I felt so welcomed and the tasks i had to do were clear and easy. Ioanna is so lovely and she is great company. The boys are so fun and kind. They were a bit hesitant at first but i believe we were able to teach each other things in the end. This was a great volunteering experience and i would recommend it to anyone. You have so much freedom as it's quite flexible. Had so much fun was actually a bit sad to leave as i did feel like a part of the family at the end even though i was only there for 2 weeks!
