I loved my time at the restaurant. Sylou is an incredible person and chef, I got to practice my French, talk to the customers, learn new cooking skills and eat delicious meals that Sylou made for us. She has clear rules that make it easier to know how to actually be helpful around the kitchen and I also enjoyed our chats before and after service. I would recommend it for anyone that wants to experience the French countryside and to connect with nature since there are trails for walking or riding a bike.

I had an extremely welcoming and immersive experience at the host, Sylou was a wonderful host who was very generous in every respect. We had delicious meals and lots of ingredients to cook with too! I found it really useful to practice my French through working in the kitchen, serving customers and behind the bar, some nights were more busy and hands on than others, to be expected in hospitality work. The location is remote and quiet, so perfect for walks and reading :) I am so grateful for such a learning experience, it was amazing to work alongside Sylou!! Thank you :)

I stayed one month with Sylou alongside two Worldpackers volunteers. The area and restaurant are beautiful, and we had daily time to explore, especially after Sylou provided bikes. The location is quiet and quite isolated, so opportunities to meet locals were limited, though I did practice French with a friendly elderly man nearby. I also learned a lot about French cooking—Sylou is an excellent chef and teacher, preparing delicious meals for guests and volunteers alike.

Sylou was great at giving tasks and helping you understand them. The restaurant is nice and the meals are delicous. In my case i felt I had lots of food to eat and also a very comfortable bed. Only expect it to be a bit isolated, but that's known so get ready for a relaxing and learning experience ! One of a kind !
