The Experience

Hi, WE have been given a donation towards materials-paint, tiles, wood, to set up a new coral for sick ponies and to improve our volunteer accommodation. We are looking for someone who has maintenance, simple fence construction skills, diy skills, painting & carpentry skills to help do a number of jobs around the farm before winter sets in. Are you the guy who can help us ?

I spent 6 weeks here and loved every moment! Amanda is really lovely and all the animals are very sweet! Be prepared for hard work but your help and commitment is really a necessity and appreciated on the farm! There's always something to do or somewhere to go- seeing a dance festival in the village or visiting beautiful beaches on my day off! If you're thinking about helping out please do- I'd definitely recommend to anyone into horses, outdoors or animals! I will definitely be returning to this wonderful place!!!

I loved my time at the farm&extended my stay. The ponies excellent care is forefront.Amanda has knowledge in many areas but lmtd time-I never realised how much work it takes to run a nonprofit! The days follow a routine, organised with clear manual tasks. You need to engage for 4/5 hours to make the most of it! The 3 energetic rescue dogs need time to adjust to new people and strict boundaries, but are lovely. The room is basic but has all essentials, the area offers peace&quiet& stunning night sky. Food is tasty and nutritious. The beach is close and village is 10km away, easy to hitchhike!

I really enjoyed my time at skyros. I think there was enough work and enough free time. One day a week was a free day when I could go to the city or the beach. I recommend this place to everyone who likes horses and simple and peacefull life style.

I'm glad I could support Amanda's and Stathis incredible project. They care for their animals more than well. The work and accommodation is as described and the area is very pretty. It's a good opportunity if you are looking for a place to calm down and be around lots of animals. I liked the volunteer team, it was always nice and I met great people :)

It's a great place. Amanda and Stathie are nice people and they make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The work can be hard if you're not used to it. But you will gain strength during your time here. I was supposed to stay for 2 months but instead I stayed 4, so I definitely recommend it.
